Payment Forms Accepted
National currency is the "peso" ($) and available bills are from 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 pesos, and coins from 1 peso, 5, 10, 25 and 50 cents.
Although the US dollar is wide accepted, currency change can be done at Banks and Exchange Agencies. All major credit cards are also wide accepted.
Airports
Ezeiza International Airport is located 35 km (56 miles) from Buenos Aires downtown. Average travel time from the airport to downtown is 40 minutes through highway. Domestic flights departures from Jorge Newbery Airport located just 4 km (6.4 miles) from downtown.
Transportation
- Subway/Metro: There are 5 metro lines in Buenos Aires, called "subte" by the Argentineans, that connect the downtown with all major neighborhoods and attractions. A metro map can be obtained at all stations.
- Bus: Also called "colectivo" by Argentineans, is the widest used transportation by Argentinean workers. There are about 145 bus lines that connects all the city.
- Taxi: Buenos Aires is full of taxis, all of them painted black and yellow.
- Remis: This is a valid alternative for the taxi with fixed fares for pre-established distances. This is a rented car with car driver and is the best choice for half and long distance journeys.
- Car Rental: To be able to rent a car in Buenos Aires, you must be an adult with a present driving license, ID and a credit car. Foreign people will also need to show a passport. This is a great alternative for those who are planning to travel within the Country.
Migration Requisites
There is no visa required for tourists and business travelers. The allowed stay in this case is up to 90 days. For longer stays you should ask the respective visa at the Argentinean consulates at your location.
